About

Hi!  I’m Dawn.

I’m a child of God and love the Lord with all my heart, all my soul and all my mind.  I’m head over heels for the love of my life and blessed to have married my soul mate in 1996.  I have a son that is a firefighter/paramedic, a daughter-in-law that is a doctor of nursing, and a grandson that I could not have imagined how much I could possibly love.  My cup runneth over with the love I have for my family.

I have 2 siberian huskies.  We treat them like they are our kids and love them beyond measure.  They have the best life and give us back so much unconditional love.  Bella (french for beautiful) will be 7 in December.  Rane (scandinavian for pure) will be 4 in April.

My life right now is crazy! I quit my job at 40 (in december 2013).  I decided to go back to college after 20 years in the workforce and take all the classes needed to eventually be a Nurse.  Carpe Diem!!!

I started school January 2014.  So far, so good.  I have ace’d “basic” math (yea, it had been awhile!!), Stats, Nutrition, Psychology (no thanks to the instructor that was clueless of the curriculum).

As of this post, I am knee deep in A&P 1.  So far, I have an A…..but the course isn’t over yet.  And next semester I will be taking A&P 2 and Microbiology.  Whew! That’s gonna be insane!

I am hoping to start the nursing program Fall 2015.That would be ideal! Can not wait to start my life as a nurse!

In addition to spending time on campus, I spend an enormous amount of time studying.  Any free time I have, I spend with my hubby, kids and grandson, and my 4 legged fur kids.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Jump in and enjoy!

  1. Thank you for stopping by my blog and deciding to follow it. I went back to graduate school at age 40. Best thing ever! Sending supportive thoughts!!!

    1. Hi cmwriter. I love your blog. It’s very inspiring. I enjoyed reading several of your posts. Thank you for reading mine and for following. I really thought I was too old to return to school, but then found out my great grandmother returned to school at 50 and became a nurse. I was truly inspired and dove in head first and haven’t looked back. Thank you so much for your encouragement.
